House of Hackney

House of Hackney

Welcome to Friday boys and mostly girls.
I’m off to Halifax today on a little road trip…doing some university tours with the teenager…PS on that one, I first laid eyes on my big girl when she was 6…now she’s 17 and leaving next year for school…where the hell does the time go and why the hell am I so bleeping old?
All of the above makes me sad.
Anyhoo…I have something fabulous to share with you today so that will make the above better…sort of.
If you haven’t already seen this floating around blogsphere, welcome to a little piece of British heaven…
Not only did House of Hackney have me at hello with their banner, their ‘about’ page description had me practically kissing the screen…
“House of Hackney takes the concept of British home wares and turns it on its head subverting traditional products with playful and irreverent prints and imagery to appeal to a new generation.
After a decade of bland minimalism and disposable furnishings House of Hackney is on a quest to take the beige out of interiors. Described as ‘Colefax and Fowler on acid’ the wallpaper, bed linen and furniture label is characterized by prints and products that are steeped in tradition but are bold and non -conformist.

And then there’s the campaign itself…organized into three distinct pattern stories and steeped in fashion forward funkaliciousness, it’s a delight to the senses.
Oh and what’s more…each editorial shot is filled with clickable links that direct you automatically to the item pages…shopping within pretty photographs….brilliant!

Pattern one…Dalston Rose…

Pattern Two…Queen Bee…

Pattern Three…Hackney Empire…

I quite adore the in your face maximalism of this line…unapologetically brash with a little feminine softness thrown in just to even the field.
What say you?

Oh and PS/speaking fabulous….today is the last full day to enter my Peggy Wolf giveaway- the draw happens tomorrow.

Gorgeous! Here in Chicago, Hackney’s is an old, local pub/eatery that I adore, but this version of “Hackney’s” is pretty awesome as well!

Love the drama and whimsy in the line that radiates through the photographs, so British!! Thanks for the intro, have fun college shopping, remember doing it with my 2 older boys, fun, exciting, bittersweet, kind of sad and made me insanely jealous that I am not 18 all over again with the world as my oyster with everything out there in the world for the taking! SO EXCITING. Good luck, and hope you get to enjoy this incredibly exciting process and time in your daughters life.

I love this! i am so over minimalism. It’s what they taught us in school and that was 10 years ago. It’s time for a change for sure. Love your coined term Maximalism.
