Interior Design Show 2017

Interior Design Show 2017

In anticipation of the upcoming 19th Annual Interior Design Show on January 19-22nd, I am outlining my top 10 must-see exhibitors that I am most looking forward to seeing at this year’s show! With guest speakers like David Adjaye, one-of-a-kind design pieces and tons of inspiration for the new year, it was a major challenge picking just 10. If you are interested in attending the opening party or show, I am offering all my interior design loving readers a 10% discount with the promo code ‘IDS17TIM’ as well, I am giving away 2 tickets to the opening party and 2 weekend passes to a lucky follower who comments and tags the person they would bring with them to #IDS17! For those of you who are still on the fence about whether or not to attend, read on…
1. Altea Furniture

A furniture company that takes worn or distressed European antiques and gives them new life with modern and traditional techniques, sumptuous upholstering and beautiful detailing, is a company that is very much up my ally! Their new collection or pieces  reminiscent of their antiques, is also beyond beautiful…

2. Montauk Sofa

Sofa’s made here in Canada, with a traditional solid wood frame, all covered by memory foam and down filled feather cushions…yes please. Also, they’re 100% the sexiest sofas that ever were…always a favourite stop at IDS!

3. Lightmaker Studio

Lighting designed and manufactured in Toronto, with beautifully graphic lines, with an ode to mid-century optimism and nostalgia…yes, yes and yes…

4. Premier Paint

Paint that’s made in Canada, covers in one coat, is $27.99/can, and comes in a giant array of stunning colours…all the yes…

5. Mobilia

If you’re looking for high design, at amazingly affordable prices, Mobilia is such an incredible bet. I’ve been so impressed with their recent collections, and most noteably, with Janette Ewan’s Roaring Twenties Collection…I want every single item…

6. Morghan Clayhall

I’m totally an absolutely obsessed with this custom furniture line from Toronto…the use of oil portraits and historical landscapes, in combo with modern lines and graphic neon, is nothing short of genius…

7. Nanoleaf

I was first introduced to this very cool LED lighting a few months ago and am more in love than ever…to me, it feels like a modern take on neon. I love that you can change the design as often as you like and program the graphic to change colours and hues depending on placement or mood etc.

8. Partial Gallery

Art is my favourite…I think everyone knows that;) Discovering a gallery filled with incredible Canadian talent, that allows you to rent pieces by the month and delivers them to your door…well that’s the biggest win every in the history of wins!

9. Anony

I’m a total sucker or lighting that feels decidedly modern…combine that with a palate of pastel pink and well, I’m more than sold. In their words, “the studio strives to unite current technology & creativity into meaningful emotional experiences.” Mission so accomplished…

10. My usual collection of favourite retailers…so look forward to seeing them al!

And with that, make sure you leave a comment below to enter to win your tickets for the opening gala and/or even days…I’ll be there with bells on!
