08 Aug Curiosities
After reading Tobe’s gorgeous post yesterday (and PS, if you haven’t seen it yet, you simply must scroll down and have a look- divine,) I started thinking more about my love for curiosities…like her, I adore the one of a kind…the special…the off beat pretties that make a house truly a home.
My favourite place to collect such trinkets is Etsy…as all of you know, it’s a total treasure trove.
With #projectkitchengorgeous in full swing, I have an ever growing file of favourites.
From abstract gold to a marble Aphrodite…
a pink bug framed in a gorgeous antique to a vintage compote bowl….
gold rimmed glasses….
floral plates…
the best frosted pink and gold glasses I’ve ever seen (these have already come home with me:)
fabulous Turkish towels…aka dish towels for #pkg
mother of pearl binocs that would sit so happily on top of a stack of books….
a pair of the prettiest chinoise vases…
delicate yellow glasses….
and that touch of animal whimsy that makes any space that much more chic….
I think the key to curiosity fabulous is that each piece should be interesting…anything that is makes some kind of statement and that draws your eye…and for me, the quirkier the better.
What curiosities are on your wish list right now?
Oh and PS, I know I said that there would be a #pkg update today but since I’m in PEI, I don’t really have much to fill you in on.
I have finished a divine DIY chair overhaul that Meredith has told me I simply must keep under wraps…I can tell you that it was inspired by the idea she posted here.
I also just purchased these pretties for the pantry doors…
I’ve been looking for a set of 4 antique handles FOREVER so when I found these, I literally jumped up and down…can’t wait for them to arrive.
And with that, I’m off to enjoy the gorgeous red sands…later lovelies.

Posted at 07:50h, 08 AugustI tend to pick up things when I travel (or at the thrifts), rather than etsy…I guess I like that it has a story…or maybe I’m just waiting for someone to ask me “where did you get that?”…”Oh, in Paris”
Those handles are fabulous! The attention and detail going into your kitchen is inspiring!!!

Have a great time in PEI - we rented a cottage there near Souris about years ago and had the best time. Went to an auction in Souris and found the most amazing things for so cheap. Just love that red sand 🙂
