Christine Dovey is a published stylist, decorator and artist whose signature aesthetic can best be described as a blushy cocktail of delicate pretty mixed with a dash of modern edge. She believes that the most beautiful things in life are worth waiting for and that great design should feel like a gorgeous art exhibit…personal, collected and memorable.

After the birth of her second child, Christine left her career as a teacher to follow her creative passions with the launch of her blog, Bijou and Boheme in 2010. Her musings on design, fashion and art quickly garnered the attention readers and professionals alike and helped pave the way for work in the field of interior design.

Since branching out and accepting clients, Christine has seen her design work published in Style at Home magazine, Apartment Therapy, Style Me Pretty Living, Adore Home, Ivy and Piper, and The Globe and Mail just to name a few. In addition, Christine has also enjoyed an editorial position with Style at Home magazine and is currently a contributing design expert for the nationally syndicated TV show, Steven and Chris.

Christine’s design business has continued to expand with clients seeking out her instantly recognizable ‘bijou’ style. She’s currently working on projects that span the globe from Australia to Norway to Beverly Hills. Christine pours her heart and soul into every project and is known for her love of the hunt…never satisfied until she’s found the absolute perfect chandelier, settee or piece of art, she finds nothing more satisfying than taking a client’s inspiration folder and transforming the fantasy into reality.

Along with her design work, Christine loves creating abstract works for her Etsy shop, Art + Reverie. As a child, she dreamed of becoming a working artist and the launch of the store has been one of the accomplishments she’s most proud of. Christine is currently accepting commissions and is partnering with some of her favourite retailers to have her work showcased commercially.

And when she’s not immersed in writing her blog, creating design plans or covered in paint, Christine spends her days in Oakville, Ontario with her husband Ian and children Natasha, Scarlett, Malcolm and Jasper. Though she’s incredibly fulfilled by all of her ventures, nothing gives her more joy than her precious family…she thinks spending days with their infectious smiles and sweet ‘I love yous’ is just about as good as it gets. Combine this with a burgeoning design career that allows Christine to work from home and get ‘her creative on’ and well, she’s feeling pretty lucky…something she toasts most nights with the clink clink of a well sized wine glass.
