The Dream House Diaries #11 – A Piano???

Good morning friends.
My vacation is continuing with lots of beach time, a little drinkie poo time, and LOTS of kid/family time.
And of course, being in heaven is making me dream even more about the little piece of it we’re hoping to start building when I get home…aka #projectdreamhouse.
And since I’m thinking about it, let’s do this week’s edition of…
For today, I’m dreaming of a little something I never really considered before…
And it has to do with the ‘feel’ I’m trying to create with this house…though I definitely want a comfortable home that functions for my family, I also want a space that feels slightly formal…especially the living room.
And right now, I’m thinking that one way to make this happen is with a…
…piano action…
Love a room where there's a piano.
Beautifully designed #home foyer with #marble floors & a black grand #piano.
Living room or #home #library with beautiful grand #piano and comfortable seating. Really liking that #chair #design accents
Grand piano.... Sigh!
Prefabricated Passive House by ecoDESIGNfinca
pretty palette, love the grand piano
Ligne Roset Togo fireside chair, and baby grand piano.
Grand piano to finish off a room
Problem is, none of us really play the piano…and I really can’t afford one…but my they’re pretty.

hahaha!! you are funny! They are beautiful….but aside from expensive you really need a large space for them to really look beautiful.

Ok, so, I totally LOVE pianos in the home. But I am a music major after all…
You can get pianos at a good price from local universities. Ask them when they sell their pianos. Usually they rotate them out from time to time. Also, you can hire a pianist to come with you if you purchase one off of Craigslist {ignorant: do they have Craigslist in CA?}.
As far as playing, you should totally have your kids take lessons. But again, coming from a music girl. If no one plays, then you can always hire a pianist to play at parties, or offer your gorgeous space to a budding pianist for a recital.
    okay. enough from me.

I grew up with a grand piano in my house and took lessons for 10 years. I would love for my daughter to have the same experience. We don’t have a space for a paino in our current home, but bet your bottom dollar that I’m designing a spot for one in our next abode! I say go for it!!!

I have an antique baby grand in my living room and no one plays. I found it on craigslist for $125.00 if I remember correctly. How could I not buy it? It’s fabulous and I plan to learn to play…

I think grand pianos are gorgeous, I grew up with one and though I flunked piano lessons, I loved to tinker on it, your kids will love it. Enjoy your vacay!

I choose the piano because I play it myself, and I also knew it would be totally arresting for people to see one being played on the street.

Interesting Blog, it is undeliverable how something so big is bogus by bodies breadth would you start. Accepting a career on the oil rigs was the best activity I anytime did.
