Sunday Style in Seven – Sharalee of escapade

Sunday Style in Seven – Sharalee of escapade

Good morning lovelies.
I’m thrilled to have Sharalee here today, showing us a little glimpse into her amazing style.
I’ve had the privilege of meeting her in person and she is as utterly charming as she is fabulously chic.
Sharalee is one of those people who is just effortlessly stylish and her blog is one of my favourite destinations for modern glamour.

If you’re not already on the escapade train, I’m sure this little preview will have you begging for a ticket.

Hello! It’s Sharalee from escapade, very happy to be taking part in Christine’s Style in Seven series, letting you know a little bit more about my own personal style.

Small moments + little luxuries: whether it’s enjoying a lingering moment with a hot cup of tea overlooking the garden or saving up for an iconic classic piece you’ll treasure forever – I believe in making a special occasion out of the smallest moments of everyday life and in using the beautiful things things you enjoy on a regular basis. I always make a point of having some of my favourite things around me – be it a pair of earrings or a delicate teacup.

(and I always seem to have at least 2 pieces of costume jewellery tucked away in purse at all times, just in case…)

Art + Photography on display – one of my biggest treasures and things I’m most devoted to in my home is my growing collection of art and photography – much of which is my own or by close friends. I love keeping this visual journey of my life around me and am always so happy to support my friends’ talent and their dreams. It makes me feel much more connected to each piece.

Motown:  I have an incredibly eclectic collection that extends to include almost anything that isn’t angry (and even that can occasionally be appropriate), however, I never fail to come back to my true music love of Motown and soulful classics – Al Green, Stevie Wonder, Michael …I could go on about how I feel about these guys but I will tell you one things – it’s real and it’s deep!

I’m a hopeless J Crew addict – if you’ve met me more than once, chances are you’ve seen me wearing something from this brand. Their modern twist on classic style just suits me to a t. I actually keep two magazine files completely devoted entirely to their archived catalogues and will often look back at them for inspiration.

Bringing the world home – I’m a firm believer in travel as the best form of education – and it never fails to inspire you with a new perspective. Having grown up in Africa and been fortunate enough to do quite a bit of travelling, I love wearing or displaying pieces I’ve collected along the way to tell a bit of my personal story and remind me of happy adventures.

The eternal chic-ness of black and white – it dominates much of my wardrobe and most of my home, yet I never tire of it. While colour can add a freshness and life, to me you can never go wrong with a black and white start.

Flowers + nature – I truly believe in the power of surrounding yourself with at least one natural thing at all times. In our hectic, digital world it will always keep you grounded and remind you of the beauty at the source of things.

Thanks Sharalee.
I’m sure I can speak for all of us…LOVE your style!
