Interior Design Show 2017

In anticipation of the upcoming 19th Annual Interior Design Show on January 19-22nd, I am outlining my top 10 must-see exhibitors that I am most looking forward to seeing at this year’s show! With guest speakers like David Adjaye, one-of-a-kind design pieces and tons of inspiration for the new year, it was a major challenge picking just 10. Lighting designed and manufactured in Toronto, with beautifully graphic lines, with an ode to mid-century optimism and nostalgia…yes, yes and yes…

Paint that’s made in Canada, covers in one coat, is $27.99/can, and comes in a giant array of stunning colours…all the yes…

5. Mobilia

If you’re looking for high design, at amazingly affordable prices, Mobilia is such an incredible bet. I’ve been so impressed with their recent collections, and most noteably, with Janette Ewan’s Roaring Twenties Collection…I want every single item…

6. Morghan Clayhall

I’m totally an absolutely obsessed with this custom furniture line from Toronto…the use of oil portraits and historical landscapes, in combo with modern lines and graphic neon, is nothing short of genius…

7. Nanoleaf

I was first introduced to this very cool LED lighting a few months ago and am more in love than ever…to me, it feels like a modern take on neon. I love that you can change the design as often as you like and program the graphic to change colours and hues depending on placement or mood etc.

8. Partial Gallery

Art is my favourite…I think everyone knows that;) Discovering a gallery filled with incredible Canadian talent, that allows you to rent pieces by the month and delivers them to your door…well that’s the biggest win every in the history of wins!

I’m a total sucker or lighting that feels decidedly modern…combine that with a palate of pastel pink and well, I’m more than sold. In their words, “the studio strives to unite current technology & creativity into meaningful emotional experiences.” Mission so accomplished…

Haute Spots – Province Apothecary

I ventured to Kensington Market in TO this past Sunday to visit the coolest cocktail shop (hello pink brick that also just happens to be a booze emporium,) which then got followed up with the best treat to myself ever at Province Apothecary

I kid you not when I say this was the BEST facial I’ve ever had and I’ve had quite a few in my time. If you’re in the hood, it’s a must visit/Christmas present to yourself.
